Ash Die Back
Marsh Tree Care Ltd. is currently working with local landowners and the National Trust to combat the affect of Ash dieback on local trees. Using a variety of techniques to support and maintain the health of local woodlands and ecosystems to manage the impact of this current issue.
Ash Dieback can affect Ash trees of all ages it is a fungus the affects our native ash trees as they have not evolved a natural defence to defend themselves against the fungus. The fungus grows in the tree and slowly starts to block the trees’ ability to take in water causing the tree to die.
The fungus affects the whole tree causing visible changes year on year, the ash trees can fight the infection over the years but sadly the fungus will eventually kill the tree. If you are worried about your Ash trees there are many signs to look out for including dark patches on the leaves, sheading leaves earlier than expected, dark brown, diamonded shaped lesions can appear where the branches meet the trunk as well as a change in the colour to the inner bark.
